Ok, I'd like to point out now, I don't give much for the dead. Call me what you like, but there dead, they don't really care what I say about them. What I do care about is whats said around the living connected to the dead. My grate gran was a horrible woman, so I don't mind saying things like Gang Green has made a new friend in me...I know no one in my family or around her liked her, and thus I don't feel anything for what I said, and I don't think it's anyone's right to condemn me for my comment. But I do think I have full right to condemn the wanker who came up with this:
Johnny Cash was an awesome man, and at least one of his songs touches most people (and for most people that song is Hurt). This video is meant to be a tribute to him...I'm all for tributes but listen to the quote at the beginning...'johnny always wore black, he wore black because he identified with the poor and the down trodden'. This is true, Johnny had risen from being one of them, so no doubt he did feel he was on an equal par with them and that's worthy of my respect I say. So why the fuck am I watching this video and seeing the following credited people:
Iggy Pop
Kanye West
Chris Martin
Kris Kristofferson
Patti Smith
Terrence Howard
Flea
Q-Tip
Adam Levine
Chris Rock
Justin Timberlake
Kate Moss
Sir Peter Blake
Sheryl Crow
Dennis Hopper
Woody Harrelson
Amy Lee
Tommy Lee
Dixie Chicks
Mick Jones
Sharon Stone
Bono
Shelby Lynne
Anthony Kiedis
Travis Barker
Lisa Marie Presley
Kid Rock
Jay Z
Keith Richards
Billy Gibbons
Corinne Bailey Rae
Johnny Depp
Graham Nash
Brian Wilson
Rick Rubin
Owen Wilson
Where the fuck are the downtrodden and poor?! Where are the average Joe's?! What the fuck possessed someone to stick a bunch of celebs in the video? and half these fuckers are not here as a tribute, there here for the pay and publicity, I doubt most of them like Johnny Cash, I'd be surprised if some of them had heard of him. God, and what the fuck is Bonno doing?! That self glorified prick, get back to pretending your doing some good for the word!
*ahem*
god...I feel better now...
So yeah...if like me you have some respect for Cash, don't remember him though this pathetic tribute...this takes away a piece of the soul in Hurt...that awesome song that a lot of us feel was his good-bye song, from both him and his wife...god rest both there souls...
Enjoy
